Looking for guidance
I was in a pivotal chapter in my life, and I often recited some of my favorite quotes to keep me going. I remember my 11-year-old self reading the words spoken by Dumbledore: “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." It sounded so simple. As if we all had an Deluminator in our back pocket, and we can choose when the light turns on. A few years later, one of my best friends told me that happiness is a choice. I had never thought of it that way, but here it was. So seemingly simple.
The ceilings are different in Europe
In more ways than one. If you’ve heard of anyone’s first venture into Europe, you’ll likely hear about the café culture, the cathedrals, heated pavements, and some of the most ornate architecture. Everyone who has ever heard these people ramble on and on should know that it’s all true - it really is that amazing. I spent my times staring at ceilings. A nice break from tucking in my chin to look at my cellphone.
It was the ceilings in a cathedral by my (now) apartment in Spain, where I felt a sense of being watched over. And no, not in the “someone breathing over your shoulder,” but in the way my support system makes me feel.
I’m most fortunate to have a support system that transcends distance, time zones, and different phases of life. These angels represent the people who have always carried light into my life. In fact, I made them each name angel and I will list them only here:
Top Left: Sappho
Top Middle: Laila
Bottom Left: Violet
Top Right: Spice
Bottom Right: Rhea
